BEVERLY, Mass. (AP) - Authorities in Massachusetts say a rabid fox that was struck by a car may be the same one that attacked two people.

The Salem News reports (https://bit.ly/2sV2eGD ) that the fox in question was struck and killed by a car in Beverly on Tuesday. Two Beverly women were attacked in separate incidents by a fox the day before.

City Animal Control officials say they aren’t certain whether the rabid fox that was killed is the same one that attacked the two victims, but police issued a statement saying the rabid animal was the only fox seen in the area.

One of the victims confirmed she received precautionary rabies shots after the attack.
