SANDY, Utah (AP) - Search and rescue teams have recovered the body of a hiker who fell into Bell Canyon Creek.

The Unified Police Department of Salt Lake County said Tuesday that 22-year-old Siaosi Brown of Taylorsville was pulled from the water a day after crews spotted his body from a helicopter. Swift water near the lower falls of Bell Canyon kept them from getting him out sooner.

Brown was with his friends on the popular trail when he fell into the creek Sunday. The friends called police when they did not see him resurface after 40 minutes.

He fell into the creek while trying to cross it near the first waterfall in Bells Canyon.
