ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) - A popular fishing and camping spot in Mississippi has re-opened following years of renovation.

WTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/2sFbtZp ) reports Lake Monroe opened Wednesday to the public.

The lake was closed about four years ago as crews renovated its campgrounds. The 99-acre lake was also drained and restocked with fish.

Game Warden Dean Hudson of Monroe County says people between the ages of 16 and 64 must have a valid fishing license. People under the age of 16 and older than the age of 65, as well as those on disability, are exempt from a license.

Lake fees are also required. Hudson says the fees are posted at the honor box near the lake’s office. Fishermen should read the fee sign and choose the proper fee that relates to them.
