The 20-year-old cancer patient who was mocked as having “Nazi hair” during a CPAC segment on TBS’ “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” says the egregious gaffe “goes beyond” him and his disease.

“Full Frontal” was forced to apologize Thursday after learning that Kyle Coddington — a registered Democrat who was attending CPAC as a member of the press for Outset magazine — is not a Nazi sympathizer but undergoing treatment for terminal stage 4 glioblastoma.

“We deeply apologize for offending @_that_kyle in our CPAC segment,” the show tweeted. “We only learned of his condition today & have removed him from the piece.”

Mr. Coddington said that tweet, and a $1,000 donation to his GoFundMe account, was the extent of the show’s apology.

“It is kind of a half-apology I would say,” he told Fox News Friday. “The effects of this go much further than just insulting me and the illness itself. It’s just inconsiderate and very unprofessional to lump together anyone with a certain hairstyle or by just the way they look.”

“It goes beyond me,” he added.

In the “Full Frontal” segment, which has since been deleted from YouTube, Michael Rubens narrates while cutting to images of young CPAC attendees sporting partially shaved heads.

“This year, the bow ties were gone, replaced by Nazi hair, Nazi hair, Nazi hair,” Mr. Rubens says while including an image of Mr. Coddington.

Mr. Coddington, who identifies himself as a political moderate, said he was “shocked” after his family and friends told him that his image had been used in the clip.

But all’s not lost from “Full Frontal’s” humiliating error: Mr. Coddington’s GoFundMe page to help pay for treatment expenses has skyrocketed from $2,500 to more than $80,000 in less than 24 hours.

“I just want to thank everyone for donating. That’s absolutely amazing. I’m still shocked,” he said on “Fox & Friends.”

Mr. Coddington said he intends to “stay positive” and continue fighting his disease. His next round of treatments begins March 20.
