ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A 79-year-old Anderson woman has died after tractor-trailer crashed into her sedan.

Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown tells local media outlets Estelle Wood was running errands at around noon Friday when the truck hit her 2005 Lincoln Continental.

McCown says was given CPR at the scene and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis says 63-year-old Anthony H. Maye of Greenwood drove through a red light before hitting Wood’s car in the middle of the intersection.

Maye was not injured. The Patrol says he was cited for disregarding a traffic signal.

Outlets report the truck belongs to Powell’s Trash Service of Greenwood.
