FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Police say a man has been taken into custody for slashing tires and making a bomb threat in Fargo.

Authorities say the man slashed about 30 tires early Monday in south Fargo.

KFGO (https://bit.ly/2lTb0TL ) reports police were called shortly before 2 a.m. The suspect then entered several apartment buildings and began pulling fire alarms. Some residents were evacuated.

Police say they found the suspect in the basement of an apartment building. Deputy Chief Ross Renner says the man told officers he had a bomb in his backpack. Authorities deployed a robot to check the backpack.
