SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) - The New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is seeking an investigation of a threatening letter that was sent to a New Jersey mosque.

Masjid Al-Iman in Jersey City received the letter, which was postmarked from Sheffield, England, on Tuesday. The letter featured an illustration with the words “Muslim Slayer.” It also said “you and your filthy kind will be beheaded.”

The group says similar threatening notes were received in Maryland and Virginia earlier this week.
