President Trump’s chief economic adviser, Gary Cohn, said Monday that he believes Republicans will bring health care legislation to the House floor this week.

“This is going to be a great week. We’re going to get health care to the floor of the House,” Mr. Cohn said on CBS News.

He also explained that the administration will release more details on the president’s tax plan as soon as they get enough input from the various groups that they want opinions from.

“We want to get an enormous amount of input before we draft the final bill,” he said.

Mr. Cohn said the basic idea of the plan is to cut taxes, but eliminate deductions to make more income taxable.

“We’re going to make wealthy people pay taxes on a much broader spectrum of their income,” he said.

The president released his tax plan last week on a single page. He is expected to release the final draft of the bill in the next few weeks.
