ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis man accused of involuntary manslaughter in the February death of his girlfriend’s 6-year-old daughter has been fatally shot while out on bail.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2qnNiNv ) reports 31-year-old Jeramee Ramey died at the scene of the drive-by shooting shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday.

Ramey and his girlfriend, 27-year-old Ebony Jones, were charged with involuntary manslaughter and three counts of misdemeanor child endangerment after the February shooting death of Jones’ daughter, Mi’Kenzie Bostic.

Police have said it appeared Mi’Kenzie was shot by another child, and court records allege Ramey told police he and Jones fell asleep after smoking drugs and left a loaded handgun on the floor. Police say three other children, ages 9, 4 and 3, were home at the time.
