NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A Norfolk man has been sentenced to six years in prison for a drunken-driving crash that killed an Old Dominion University student.

Friday’s sentencing of 22-year-old Paul Fraki followed his guilty plea in February to aggravated involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Prosecutors say Fraki was chugging vodka and driving at twice the speed limit last August when his pickup truck plowed into one being driven by 21-year-old Jordan Zimmerman, a senior criminal justice and political science major at ODU.

The Virginian-Pilot reports (https://bit.ly/2qMHiOZ ) that a lawyer for Fraki, a Marine who was married and expecting a child at the time, described him as an alcoholic who had been abandoned by his mother and sexually abused, and had little contact with his father when he was growing up.
