BURLINGTON, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say a leg injury didn’t stop a trooper from chasing down a suspected drunken driver who had crashed into the back of his parked vehicle.

Police say the trooper was stopped Sunday night on Interstate 95 in Burlington with his emergency lights on. They say he was in the cruiser when a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old Robert Cambria, of Abington, slammed into the cruiser’s back end.

Police say Cambria tried to run away, but the trooper caught him.

Police say Cambria was arraigned Monday in Woburn District Court on a charge of operating under the influence of liquor. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.

The trooper was released from the hospital Monday morning. His name hasn’t been released.
