LAUREL, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware say an intoxicated woman was arrested after trying to assault another woman with a hammer.
The News Journal reports officers were dispatched to a fight in progress at an apartment complex in the Sussex County town of Laurel on Friday night.
Detective Tyler Bryan says 41-year-old Kathrine Blake attempted to assault the victim in front of the victim’s children before officers arrived.
He says Blake was taken into custody and charged with second-degree reckless endangering, terroristic threatening, menacing, disorderly conduct, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and failing to comply with fingerprint processing.
Police said because of Blake’s intoxication, she couldn’t be arraigned and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Blake had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
