LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 1-year-old boy died after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Grant Rogers says police received a call about the incident Sunday night. The driver fled the scene in a blue four-door sedan.

Rogers says the baby was playing in the street along with other neighborhood children when the vehicle struck the child.

Rogers says the child’s parents were unaware the baby was outside.

Rogers says the baby was taken to University Medical Center’s trauma unit and pronounced dead.
