SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Protesters are asking Salt Lake City police to release footage from the body cameras of officers involved in the fatal shooting of a 50-year-old man.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2xVS6At ) Patrick Harmon was shot by police Aug. 13. According to police, he was shot after Harmon pulled out a weapon when officers approached him.

Police have not said what type of weapon Harmon allegedly had, where he was shot or how many shots were fired.

About 50 protesters rallied in front of the Public Safety Building Saturday, including members of Harmon’s family, demanding police release the footage.

Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill says the footage may not be released until he reviews an investigation into the incident and can determine whether the shooting was legally justified.
