FARMERS BRANCH, Texas (AP) - Police in a north Dallas suburb say they’ve arrested a man for the stabbing of an off-duty officer.

Farmers Branch police say the officer was attacked early Saturday at an apartment complex. Details of the assault haven’t been disclosed.

Authorities say a man identified as a homeless man, Donald Ramel James White, was arrested later in the day.

The officer’s name hasn’t been released but police say he’s been out of a hospital after receiving treatment and is recovering.
