SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - More than a decade after a man was found shot to death in Southern California, cold case detectives arrested one of the last people to see the victim alive.

The San Bernardino Sun reports (https://bit.ly/2wrkw0Q ) detectives this week arrested Malachi Dawson on suspicion of murder in the November 2005 killing of Noel Cornelius. It wasn’t immediately known if Dawson has an attorney.

Authorities were not immediately able to ID the body after it was found in 2005 near Apple Valley.

Cornelius, who was reported missing in July 2006, was finally identified as the victim in June 2008.

Dawson, whose bail is set at $1 million, is the brother of Rebekah Dawson, Cornelius’ wife at the time of his death.

Witnesses reported Cornelius was last seen at Malachi Dawson’s apartment.
