HOLBROOK, Ariz. (AP) - The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a DUI enforcement operation being conducted Saturday in Navajo County could be a precursor to formation of a task force in that part of northeastern Arizona.

The DPS, the county Sheriff’s Office and the Holbrook and Winslow police departments says Saturday’s operation is being conducted in the Holbrook area in conjunction with several events, including the county fair.

DPS Capt. Gary Phelps says it’s the first such enforcement operation planned by the agencies involved and he says they’re considering the possibility of forming a formal DUI task force, along the old Route 66 corridor.
