DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware officials have marked the completion of the POW/MIA Parkway in Dover with a dedication.

The parkway is also known as the West Dover Connector. It provides direct connections with multiple recreational facilities, residential areas, commercial centers and medical facilities.

Gov. John Carney was joined at the dedication on Friday by veterans and local officials. U.S. Sens. Thomas Carper and Christopher Coons and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester also attended.

The project consists of about 3.2 miles of newly constructed roadway that runs from North Street to U.S. 13.

Construction on the $68 million project began in February 2015.
