POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey man has died after he was pulled out of the ocean unconscious while swimming.

Police in Point Pleasant Beach say they received a call around 2 p.m. Sunday about a swimmer in distress off Jenkinson’s Beach.

Police pulled the 60-year-old man out of the water and he was given CPR on the beach. He was then taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
