SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Thirty-two-year-old Dustin Wilson is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs in at 165 pounds.

Miniature pig Joey is 20 inches long, weighs 70 pounds and has the appetite of well, a pig, the Springfield News-Leader reported .

Who would win an eating contest?

Wilson and Joey chow down every week in an online segment called “Man Vs. Pig” in a local show called A Podcast From Springfield.

Past meals include cashew chicken, Mexican Villa’s Burrito Enchilada Style, Jell-O, raw potatoes, bananas, macaroni and cheese and birthday cake.

The hosts of the podcast are soliciting fan suggestions for what uniquely Springfield food challenges Wilson and Joey should tackle next.

On the menu Friday night was a steering-wheel sized doughnut from Hurts Donut.

Wilson and Joey split the giant pastry - each half about the mass of six combined doughnuts.

“I don’t want to give the poor pig diabetes,” Wilson told the News-Leader.

Wilson and two friends - Jared Cantrell and Doug Smith - are the hosts of A Podcast From Springfield.

In addition to “Man Vs. Pig” segments, episodes also feature local beer reviews and community event calendars.

Wilson said he, Cantrell and Smith grew up in Aurora.

“We’ve all been friends since fifth or sixth grade. We all did ‘Jackass’-style videos back in the day,” Wilson said. “We’ve always had these grand ideas.”

The grand podcast idea came to them while having beers at 417 Taphouse about a year ago, Wilson said.

“Let’s go out and participate in all these Springfield events. Let’s experience all the beers Springfield has to offer and all the amenities we have here,” Wilson said.

For one episode, the hosts interviewed members of a Springfield roller derby team. For another, they spoke to the owner of Hotel of Terror and Dungeons of Doom.

“I love being able to do this with these guys,” Wilson said. “Our friendship has grown. It’s really neat to do things in Springfield that we normally wouldn’t have done.”

Wilson said the focus of the podcast is constantly evolving. A Podcast From Springfield is shining a spotlight on local restaurants with future “Man Vs. Pig” segments.

Suggestions they’ve received from the internet include a 40-slider challenge from Springfield Sliders and Dublin’s Pass Dublin Dare Burger Challenge.

Wilson said he and Joey are open to most food suggestions - except there’s no pork allowed.

One-year-old Joey has beaten Wilson in most of the eating challenges.

“We don’t know if she really knows what’s happening, but she loves to participate,” Wilson said.

What Joey, short for Jolene, lacks in size, she makes up in endurance.

“She dominated the potatoes because they were raw and my jaw just gave out,” Wilson said. “She doesn’t get fatigued. She could eat all night.”

For now, the podcast is a side gig, Wilson said. He works in the Children’s Division for the Missouri Department of Social Services. His fellow hosts work at Mercy Hospital and nonprofit Enactus.

Wilson said they hope to grow and take advantage of more opportunities. A Podcast From Springfield is available on iTunes and is available to stream online through Spreaker.com. Videos of “Man Vs. Pig” and more can be found on the show’s Facebook page.
