SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a hiker who went missing in California’s Sequoia National Park.

The Park Service says 49-year-old Edward Newbegin became separated from a group of hikers last Wednesday in the lower Big Arroyo area of the park, which is located in the Sierra Nevadas.

A ground and air search is underway for Newbegin, who’s described as an experienced hiker.
