BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Police in Vermont city of Brattleboro are searching for a pair of bronze lion statues that have been stolen from a building.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/2wHEPZB ) the statues that sat outside of The Vermont Building were reported missing on Monday. Shelly Huber, who serves as director of operations and building management, says the theft is concerning for tenants.

Huber says building management is offering a $1,000 reward for the recovery of the lions. Security at the building has been increased; it’s the second time the building has been burglarized.

Huber says regional recycling centers where the statues could have been sold have also been notified of the theft.
