BERLIN (AP) - German authorities say they have arrested a suspect in an incident last week in which two homeless men were doused with flammable liquid and set on fire at a Berlin railway station, leaving them with serious burns.

Police and prosecutors said the suspect, a 47-year-old man, was arrested Tuesday in Berlin’s eastern Koepenick district. That isn’t far from the scene of the attack at the Schoeneweide station on July 22.

Wednesday’s statement said that they have yet to find any evidence of an “anti-homeless motive” on the part of the suspect.

Police and prosecutors gave no further details either about him or the possible motive, but said that a court had issued an arrest warrant for him July 26 on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
