HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A man has been accused of shooting another man during an argument in Mississippi.

Hattiesburg police tell news outlets that 21-year-old Joseph Dennis was charged Saturday with one count of aggravated assault. Police spokesman Ryan Moore says officers had been called out to the shooting Friday night at an apartment complex.

Police say the man they found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was transported to a hospital. Police did not say what condition he is in.

Dennis was arrested minutes after the shooting. He also suffered a gunshot wound and was taken into custody after being treated at a hospital.

Police say the men know each other.

Dennis was jailed in Forrest County. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.

Police say other charges are pending.
