PHOENIX (AP) - A woman charged with hindering prosecution in the killing of another woman, whose body was found in Lake Pleasant, has been sentenced to a year in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Kerrie Quaintance was sentenced Friday in relation to the killing of 21-year-old Taylorlyn Nelson.

Prosecutors say Nelson’s body was discovered in July 2017, four months after she went missing.

According to police, blood evidence indicated foul play in the trailer where the victim lived with her boyfriend, Kodi Bowe. Investigators say Nelson was shot in the head.

The 52-year-old Quaintance was an acquaintance of Bowe’s.

Bowe pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and will be sentenced Tuesday.

His brother, Maxx Bowe, pleaded not guilty to the same charge. He is scheduled to go on trial in October.
