WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Shrewsbury man has been arrested in the death of a woman who was initially thought to have drowned.

Worcester Police say they arrested 32-year-old Joseph Dalrymple on Thursday in the death of Marlene Bleu, who was found face-down in water near Lake Quinsigamond on July 28.

Bleu was pronounced dead at the scene. A medical examiner has yet to rule on the cause of death.

Dalrymple is charged with strangulation or suffocation and will be arraigned in Worcester District Court. It was not immediately clear if has obtained a lawyer.

Police say they are still investigating the death.
