INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police say a 13-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the cheek by a boy who discharged a semi-automatic handgun inside a home.

The Indianapolis Star reports that police say the shooting took place about 10:15 p.m. Friday. A witness told police the girl was in a bedroom with other children while adults were in another room of the home.

The girl was taken to Riley Hospital. Authorities said she was in “good” condition.

Police did not release the age of the boy whom a witness said fired the gun. The boy was working with investigators.
