BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Kennedy Leonard scored 15 points, including three free throws in the final minute, and Colorado held on to defeat Washington State 72-69 on Sunday.

After Leonard made a pair of free throws with 15.8 seconds left, the Cougars missed their final two shots.

A 3-pointer by WSU’s Chanelle Molina tied the game with 1:19 remaining before a nice drive and dish from Alexis Robinson to Zoe Correal put the Buffs on top with 51 seconds left. Leonard then made a steal and 1 of 2 free throws for a 70-67 lead. Molina made it a one-point game with a layup.

Robinson also had 15 points for Colorado (14-13, 5-11 Pac-10), which was 22 of 28 from the foul line, 14 of 17 in the second half, and had 18 offensive rebounds.

Alexys Swedlund had 14 points for WSU (10-18, 3-13), which made 11 of 16 free throws.
