President Trump announced Tuesday the appointment of digital marketing strategist Brad Parscale as campaign manager for his 2020 re-election committee.

Mr. Parscale, currently heading digital strategies for the campaign and the Republican National Committee, has served as a longtime digital marketing strategist for Mr. Trump. He worked for the Trump Organization and then with the 2016 presidential campaign.

Brad is an amazing talent and was pivotal to our success in 2016,” said Eric Trump, son of the president, in a statement. “He has our family’s complete trust and is the perfect person to be at the helm of the campaign.”

The president filed papers to run for re-election shortly after his inauguration in 2017. Mr. Parscale has credited the campaign’s work on Facebook and Twitter for winning the 2016 race.

Senior presidential adviser and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner said Mr. Parscale “was essential in bringing a disciplined technology and data-driven approach to how the 2016 campaign was run.”

“His leadership and expertise will be help build a best-in-class campaign,” Mr. Kushner said.

In addition to focusing on building infrastructure for the 2020 re-election effort, Trump campaign officials said they will be engaged in the 2018 midterm elections, including endorsements.

Mr. Parscale promptly made to appointments Tuesday, naming Michael Glassner as the campaign’s chief operating officer and presidential daughter-in-law Lara Trump as senior adviser to the campaign.

Mr. Glassner was the deputy campaign manager in the 2016 race, and has led the president’s campaign committee as executive director since early 2017.

Mrs. Trump, wife of Eric Trump, has coordinated strategic planning and digital communications for the campaign committee since early 2017.
