GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina city is using a bus decorated with images of civil rights leaders and others to commemorate Black History Month.

The News & Record of Greensboro reports the Greensboro Transit Authority is operating the Black History Heritage Ride for the second year.

The bus features customized decals on its exterior while information on the inside depicts key moments and pivotal figures in the civil rights movement, including Rosa Parks.

Transit authority spokesman Kevin Elwood says the bus will rotate in service on all routes during February. In addition, schools and community groups can request that the bus visit their locations.

Elwood says the bus generated an overwhelming response from the community last year.
