CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - Three men are facing assault charges in a brutal attack of a light rail passenger in suburban St. Louis, and authorities are still seeking to identify three additional suspects.

St. Louis County prosecutors filed charges Friday that accuse 23-year-old Jahma Swanigan, 23-year-old Jody Dale and 31-year-old Eddie Price of attacking a man on a MetroLink train on Monday as the train was near the University of Missouri-St. Louis station. Authorities say the men struck the victim with their knees, punched him, and slammed him to the floor.

The victim suffered several injuries, including an orbital bone fracture.

Dale claimed the attack was in retaliation after the victim allegedly stole money and a gun from Dale’s aunt, though that incident was not reported to police.
