Kevin Hart isn’t losing any sleep over Kathy Griffin’s criticism this week for not bashing President Trump, a source close to the stand-up comic told Fox News.

Ms. Griffin, who kicked off her comedy tour Thursday in San Francisco — just a year after a graphic photo of herself holding a fake decapitated head of Mr. Trump sparked widespread outrage and a Secret Service investigation — went after Mr. Hart in an interview Wednesday for not criticizing the president onstage.

“I do feel like this is such an anxiety-ridden time for everyone that there is a thirst for all kinds of comedy,” Ms. Griffin told USA Today. “And look, if you want to not hear about Trump at all, go see Kevin Hart. He doesn’t even mention Trump. I personally think that’s a p—y move because he’s a black man. But I guess he’s selling more tickets than I ever will.”

A source close to Mr. Hart told Fox News that the comedian was unfazed by the attack.

Kathy is the last person on Kevin’s mind, believe me,” the source said. “Everyone has something to say about Donald Trump, and that’s the reason Kevin isn’t speaking on him. Kevin honestly feels the Trump bits are overused and knows that people are tired of the political banter from comedians.”

“Going after people isn’t Kevin’s style, and he isn’t into telling people what they should or shouldn’t think about the president,” the source added. “Kevin would much rather stick to what he already does well, and that’s telling jokes that resonate with people on a personal level.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Griffin, who said she’s “humbled and grateful” to be back on the road, has no plans to temper her political comedy.

“One of the things that’s great about being a comedian is you really do get to be a whistle-blower. I like to do it through comedy,” she told USA Today. “People love to hear these stories, so I’m not going to walk away from it. I have a hell of a story to tell.”
