INDIANOLA, Iowa (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been imprisoned for setting a fire that killed his father in south-central Iowa.

Warren County District Court records say 29-year-old Stephen Major was sentenced Monday to 50 years. He’d pleaded guilty in May to arson and second-degree murder after prosecutors lowered the murder charge.

Authorities say 50-year-old Robert Major died in the Jan. 20, 2017, fire at his home in Hartford.
