LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A Lansing couple will stand trial in the death of their 2-month-old son.

The Lansing State Journal reports that Teaya Johnson and Kaam Stricklin, both 28, were bound over to circuit court Thursday on involuntary manslaughter charges.

Kameo Stricklin died in November 2016. An autopsy found severe malnutrition and starvation.

Authorities have said Kameo and a twin brother were born six weeks premature and hospitalized for three weeks. They were released with acid reflux medication, but the couple didn’t get refills and cancelled doctor’s appointments.

A police detective testified at an earlier hearing that no one called 911 after Kameo was found unresponsive in his bed. Instead, the child was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
