BENSON, Ariz. (AP) - Cochise County Sheriff’s officials say a Guatemala man has been found dead east of Benson.

They say 28-year-old Omar Garcia-Herrera apparently was with a group of people crossing through the area when he may have become sick in the heat and ultimately died.

U.S. Border Patrol officials say they received a call from an Illinois law enforcement agency about a man who told his family that their brother was left in the southern Arizona desert.

The unidentified man provided coordinates for Garcia-Herrera’s location and Border Patrol agents responded to the area and located the body.

Sheriff’s officials say there are no signs of foul play in Garcia-Herrera’s death.

The body was taken to the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office in Tucson for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
