PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix say a missing person case has now turned into a homicide investigation and a suspect is in custody.

They say 23-year-old Oliver Laris has been booked into jail as authorities search for the body of Gustavo Martinez Gonzalaz.

Police say the 52-year-old Gonzalez has missing since June 10 after he went to sell his truck and never returned home.

Investigators say the truck was spotted Tuesday along with an SUV that allegedly followed Gonzalez’s truck two weeks earlier.

Police say Laris was identified as the SUV’s driver and they developed probable cause to arrest him for allegedly trafficking stolen property and theft of means of transportation.

Investigators say forensic, physical and digital evidence indicates Laris had contact with Gonzalez, who was the victim of a homicide.
