BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Bismarck man has been charged with manslaughter in a fatal shooting that police say resulted from an argument over a debt.

Court documents say 35-year-old Aundra Fontenot invited the victim, Derrick Left Hand, to his apartment June 14 to discuss a debt that Fontenot owed Left Hand. Authorities say the two argued in a hallway before Fontenot retrieved a pistol and shot Left Hand as he barged into the apartment.

The Bismarck Tribune says Fontenot is being held at the Burleigh-Morton County Detention Center on $250,000 cash bond for a felony charge of unlawful possession of a firearm. He’s due back in court Friday afternoon to set bond on the new charge.
