RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police have arrested a car-jacking suspect accused of robbing a woman of her purse and her SUV at gunpoint.

Police say the victim was vacuuming her GMC Yukon at a car wash near Sutro Street at about 7 p.m. Monday when a man pointed a semi-automatic handgun gun at her head, demanded her keys and took off with the vehicle.

Patrol officers spotted the suspect in the stolen vehicle about three hours later and gave chase before he collided with two parked cars and became trapped inside the SUV.

The crash shut down part of Clear Acre Lane near North McCarran Boulevard as police apprehended the suspect. He was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and later booked into the Washoe County jail on suspicion of robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle.
