Hillary Clinton burst into laughter Tuesday when asked about Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s claim that the sexual misconduct allegations against him are an orchestrated plot by Democrats who seek “revenge” for her losing the 2016 presidential election.

During his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, Judge Kavanaugh angrily declared that the sexual misconduct allegations brought by Christine Blasey Ford and two others were a “calculated and orchestrated political hit fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons, and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups.”

When asked about the statement at The Atlantic Festival on Tuesday, Mrs. Clinton erupted with laughter, Politico first reported.

“Yes, it deserves a lot of laughter,” she said after gathering herself.

“I thought it was part of the whole of his very defensive and unconvincing presentation,” she added. “I told someone later, ‘Boy, I tell you, they give us a lot of credit.’

“Thirty-six years ago, we started this against Kavanaugh,” she joked.

Mrs. Clinton went on to say that she found Ms. Blasey Ford’s testimony to be “credible,” while Judge Kavanaugh showed he doesn’t have the “judicial temperament” to serve on the high court.
