KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say a body has been found inside a home that collapsed during a fiery explosion.
KSHB-TV reports that Kansas City Fire Department Deputy Chief Jimmy Walker says the body was found in the rear of the home. It wasn’t clear if the person was male or female.
When crews responded around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, the home already had collapsed. The blast was captured on surveillance video from a nearby business.
After hearing the explosion, Kevin Meyers says he ran from his home across the street to help and heard banging. He says he ran to get a chainsaw and called 911. By that time, the home was fully engulfed.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
