ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a suspect in the murder of Southern California woman whose body was found by a construction crew in the backyard of her home.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives said they arrested 27-year-old Heber Enoc Diaz at his home in Pasadena on Friday after locating the victim’s stolen SUV.

Diaz was being held without bail for investigation of murder. Investigators did not release a motive.

County officials offered a $20,000 reward offered in exchange for information after the body of 76-year-old Chyong Jen Tsai was found on April 9.

The Pasadena Star-News reports a granny flat was being built on Tsai’s property. On March 19, burglars broke into her home and stole construction tools.

Detectives were looking at whether the burglary was connected to her murder.
