BALTIMORE (AP) - Police in Baltimore, Maryland say they’re investigating several fires at vacant homes that have been set deliberately.

Police said Saturday they had taken a person of interest into custody and are continuing to investigate a rash of fires in recent days.

Police said there have been 17 fires reported in vacant homes in the city’s southwest in the last five days. Of those, five have been ruled arson and the others remain under investigation. Police said there were four fires set deliberately on Friday.

There have been no injuries reported.
