FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Police are looking for a man they say attacked a Connecticut restaurant worker.

Police tell the Connecticut Post the victim was taking out trash at Paci Restaurant in Fairfield’s Southport section at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday when she was attacked.

She told police she was grabbed from behind and when she struggled to get away, her assailant punched her in the face several times and stabbed her in the stomach before fleeing.

She was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital where she has been stabilized.

A police dog was brought in but could not find the assailant’s scent.

He is described as a tall white male, wearing a black hat, scarf and black jacket.
