GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Police in North Carolina say a man who forced his way into a mobile home was shot and killed, while one of three people inside the home was wounded.

WITN in Greenville reports Goldsboro police say three people forced their way into the mobile home on Monday. Kevin Hagans, who was inside the home with his 7-year-old son and another man, was shot. Hagans was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the other man inside the home shot back, and the three people fled. Officers later found 40-year-old Ryan Allen in nearby woods with a gunshot wound to his pelvis area. He died during surgery at a hospital.

Police say they are investigating the home invasion and shooting.
