Forged Apparel, the veteran-owned company behind Chris Pratt’s much-talked-about Gadsden Flag T-shirt, is rereleasing the “Don’t tread on me” design in defense of Mr. Pratt after some people called the American Revolution-era flag a symbol of racism.

“[W]e are not Nike,” the company said in a statement. “The four tweets that have been posted by small-minded people with myopic views (one of which has already been deleted) DO NOT scare us. We will not back down and recall our Gadsden Flag shirts. Instead, we are going to re-release this design.”

Yahoo Movies U.K. was widely panned this week for relying on a handful of tweets from obscure Twitter accounts for a piece originally titled, “Chris Pratt criticised for ‘white supremacist’ T-shirt.” Yahoo later renamed the piece, “Chris Pratt criticised for T-shirt choice,” after facing a wave of criticism from voices on both sides of the political aisle who accused the outlet of manufacturing outrage.

Forged, a Navy SEAL-founded clothing company that donates a portion of its sales to veteran groups, defended Mr. Pratt in its statement as “one of the most humble and selfless Americans” the company has “ever known.”

Chris Pratt has been a great friend and loyal supporter of Forged since our paths crossed back in 2011,” the company’s statement said. “Since then, his support has helped both Forged Clothing and The Murph Challenge raise millions of dollars for military and law enforcement families and foundations. He has never ONCE asked for a dime in return and has always used his own funds and resources to help promote these campaigns in honor of others.”
