NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Delaware authorities say a pedestrian has been hit and killed by a freight train.
The Delaware News Journal reports Newark Police Master Cpl. William Smith said the person was struck by the train and died Monday morning.
Smith says officials aren’t releasing the person’s identity until relatives have been notified.
News outlets report the train was stopped under the Apple Road overpass following the incident.
Police didn’t immediately release any further details.
