The owners of the Igoe Inn Bar & Restaurant in Ireland issued a statement Saturday debunking media reports that claimed President Trump’s two sons, Eric and Don Jr., walked out on their bar tab.

The Trumps were reportedly well-received among the locals in Doonbeg, where the president bought Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in 2014. Last week, the Trump brothers embarked on a pub crawl celebrating their father’s first visit to the Irish village as president.

During their stop at the Igoe Inn, the Trump brothers offered a free round for the house. The Daily Beast initally reported that they skipped out on the bar tab completely, but after further reporting, found that the Trump golf course had given the bar a purchase order number and the bill had been arranged to be paid for later.

“In fact, a nearby Trump golf club did later reimburse the bar,” the publication said in a tweet Saturday. “The item has been updated, and we regret the error.”

The Daily Beast’s story, which was originially titled, “Eric and Donald Trump, Jr. still have not paid Irish bar tab,” now reads, “Golf Course Pays Off Trump Sons’ Irish Bar Bill.”

The inn has also issued a statement saying the Trumps’ bar tab had been “paid in full.”

“We have just had the most fantastic week in Doonbeg with the visit of the Trump family,” the inn said on Facebook. “I would like to clarify that The Igoe Inn was paid in full for the round of drinks that Eric & Don bought for our customers. We appreciate their business. We Do Not appreciate being misquoted.”

Inn owner Caroline Kennedy explained to The Daily Beast that the president’s sons were “lovely and down to earth” but did not have any cash on them, which is why the receipt had been forwarded to the golf course.
