A spokeswoman for first lady Melania Trump blasted ABC’s “The View” for a segment that furthered a conspiracy theory about the first lady using a body double.

“Shameful,” White House director of communications for Mrs. Trump, Stephanie Grisham, tweeted Monday afternoon.

On “The View,” the all-female panel discussed the #FakeMelania conspiracy theory that suggests the first lady uses a lookalike during public appearances.

“That one does not look like her, sorry,” co-host Joy Behar said about a photo showing the first lady and President Trump touring tornado-ravaged Alabama.

“I wasn’t going to go along with this but that one, in that picture, doesn’t look like her,” Ms. Behar said. “It’s a different shaped face.”

“I know,” co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, adding that she spent “like an hour” over the weekend going down the “rabbit hole” in investigating the theory.

Melania is a very tall, statuesque woman, and the one that we saw, the first one that we showed, she looks kind of short,” Ms. Hostin added. “Look how short she looks.”

“The View” panel on Monday was absent Whoopi Goldberg, who is fighting an illness, and its resident Republican, Meghan McCain, who routinely battles her liberal colleagues.

Ana Navarro, a self-described Republican and regular fill-in on the show, called the conspiracy theory “crazy” and “absurd” but said it’s OK to have some “fun with Melania.”

Abby Huntsman, a moderate, said she’s “not convinced” the conspiracy could be true.

Ms. Grisham, in her tweet, slammed the women for using a photo of Mrs. Trump in Alabama to have a laugh.

“@flotus & @potus traveled to Alabama to pay their respects & comfort victims of the tornado devastation,” she wrote. “In typical fashion, @theview chooses to laugh in the face of tragedy. Shameful.”
