COOLIDGE, Ariz. (AP) - The Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is getting rid of its entrance fee.

National Park Service officials announced Wednesday that the admission charge was eliminated earlier this month.

They say an analysis of the recreational fee program found that it was in the best interest to no longer enact it.

Park Superintendent Alexandra Hernandez says maintaining the fee program was an “administrative burden.”

But the park in Coolidge, about 55 miles (88.5 kilometers) south of Phoenix, still welcomes donations.
