Cindy McCain, the widow of late Republican Sen. John McCain, tweeted a screenshot of a vulgar message from a “stranger” who celebrated the senator’s recent death and wished their daughter, “The View” co-host Meghan McCain, would choke to death.

“I want to make sure all of you could see how kind and loving a stranger can be,” Mrs. McCain tweeted to her 147,000 followers. “I’m posting her note for her family and friends could see.”

The tweet included a screenshot of a message that called the late senator a “traitorous piece of warmongering s–” and said, “I’m glad he’s dead.” The author of the message also said the senator’s daughter looked like “Mrs. Piggy” and hoped the ABC host “chokes to death on the next burger she stuffs down her fat neck.”

Mrs. McCain posted the message the same day President Trump continued his yearslong feud with the family, saying he was “never a fan” of McCain. Days earlier, he criticized the late senator for voting against repealing Obamacare and mocked him as “last in his class.”

Meghan McCain fired back at the president on Monday’s “The View,” saying he “spends his weekend obsessing over great men because he knows it, and I know it, and all of you know it: He will never be a great man.”

“My father was his kryptonite in life, he was his kryptonite in death,” Ms. McCain said.
